This Week's Review and Giveaway: Mangia with Quattro: Family Style Italian From the Heart

What do you do when you're craving Italian food that is authentic, delicious and uncomplicated? You reach for Mangia with Quatto, the cookbook created by Antonio Corsi, the man behind three of British Columbia's most successful Italian restaurants: Quattro on Fourth, Gusto di Quattro, and Quattro.

Published by Whitecap Books, Mangia at Quattro is one of those cookbooks you reach for when you want to cook a simple but amazing meal for your family that everyone will love. It is also the book you take off the shelf when you want to impress dinner guests without getting yourself into a frenzy in the kitchen. All the recipes in Mangia at Quattro are made using fresh, wholesome, seasonal ingredients and as you read through it, it is truly apparent that Antonio Corsi possesses abbondanza, an abundance of passion for cooking and life, not only in the recipes but in the antecdotes and stories he shares thoughout the book.

Here at Can I get the Recipe? we featured three of Antonio's recipes and they were all a huge hit. In fact, his tomato sauce is now a staple in our home and I make it every month, all 12 cups of it, so that I have sauce in my freezer, ready to quickly thaw and use at a moments notice. Not only is it the easiest homemade tomato sauce I have ever made, but it is also the most delicious. Truly. The sauce is also used in the other two recipes we featured, the Beef and Arugula Fusili and the Baked Rigatoni. You want to see your kids happy and devour a meal faster than you have ever seen? Make the rigatoni. Meatballs, pasta, fresh tomato sauce and cheese baked to bubbly perfection. Need I say more? And the fusili is a fabulous way to use up any leftover beef. So if you are a planner like me, you add it to your week's menu a day or two after you know you will be cooking beef tenderloin. All that is left to do is grab your pasta sauce, slice up your left over beef and saute it all together with some fresh arugula, or spinach if you rather. Fabulous!
